Sandy and I had an amazing day visiting Niagara Falls. I found it to be an extremely accessible place. We parked by the Gorge Discovery center which put as at the furthest end of the park away from the falls. This turned out to be a great decision because we got to walk the entire length of the park, which actually isn’t all that far and we were able to see a lot more. Had we parked at the falls end we may have just saw the falls and left.
We started by going down an elevator which happens to be in an old part of the power station and takes you to the very bottom of the gorge. We were able to get very close to the water and if you look up there is amazing rock walls. I think it would be awesome to top rope and climb it of course haha.
We then made our way to the Maid of the Mist boat tour. If you want to get up close and personal with the falls and very wet this is the way to do it. It takes you right into the mist and it feels like you are in a rainstorm. After we got off the boat we took off our rain ponchos and then decided to go try sitting beside horseshoe falls. We got totally soaked but stayed cool most of the rest of the day.
We made our way over to Luna Island next which was a beautifully scenic stroll along the river with many overlook spots. Once we arrived at the island observation deck we were right over the falls. It is an incredibly powerful sound hearing 750,000 gallons of water a second rushing by and over the falls.
I took some 360 videos and pictures but the WiFi is very slow in the hotel so I will post them as soon as I can. I may let them load over night so I can do it in the morning. I am going to add my Facebook album just to show the pictures for now. So make sure to check this post again for some amazing sights and sounds of Niagara Falls.
